I love the flexibility of yoga - when I wrecked the ligaments in my knee skiing several years ago, my initial, personal practice was done lying down with lots of breathwork and visualisation. I taught my classes from a chair, exploring ways to get myself up and down from the floor and I observed how well my body responded.
Since then I have used what I learned to share yoga with a range of people with balance challenges, injuries, pain or who have been undergoing medical treatment. classes
CRAIGNISH VILLAGE HALL, ARDFERN start 12th September Weekly classes with a focus on a bit of social as well - I'll be providing homemade, heartwarming lentil soup for after class.

Ros Simons and I met online in 2013, introduced by a mutual friend. When Ros asked if I would join her to create a Journey through the Chakras, I was honoured and delighted.
As well as being a shamanic drum and ceremonial tool maker, her talents include Reiki, crystal healing and aromatherapy. When sound began to weave its way deeper into her lifelong work with the nature spirits, she channelled a series of bespoke sounds for the Elements and the Celtic and Elemental Trees; creating unique sets of tuning forks, incorporating wood and crystals. Working with sound now underpins many of her pilgrimages, workshops and retreats. Most recently Ros co-founded Infinity Holistic Health Training, offering training in sound therapy. |
Adding to my yoga experience, I am currently training with Infinity Holistic Health Training as a Tuning Fork Sound Practitioner, have made my own ceremonial drums with Ros and been circling the wheel of the year with the Celtic Trees, the Elements and their sounds, for the last 6 years or so. If you've been along to my Elemental Balance workshops you will have experienced the wonderful sounds of Ros' Elemental Sound Pipes.
I love to work with others, I love to pop up in village halls and at festivals across the country. It's hard to plan at the moment, please subscribe to my newsletter to keep up to date with what is happening. Below are some pictures from previous events.

Yoga is for Everyone
Yoga is for me a way of life, it is not just about the postures or how I look - its about showing up, experimenting with how my body works in this moment, how I feel, what arises for me through my practice, how can I apply the philosophy? It's an opportunity to continuously learn and share and connect.
There are so many ways to connect with yoga and dru yoga can be very therapeutic, working with visualisation where the physical feels impossible or impracticable; finding different ways to reach the same outcomes; exploring all the different aspects of yoga - the postures, breath work, stillness, meditation, connection, relaxation, our energy and the philosophy.
Shakti dance (the yoga of dance) for me brings freedom to my life, I have discovered the power of mantra, the courage it takes to stand up, show up and be present, the stories, myths and legends we can infuse in to our practise. It feels expansive and releasing.
I believe yoga is for everyone - whether you have never tried it, think it's weird or have a longstanding practice (in any yoga tradition) you are welcome to come to class. If you are nervous or unsure or your body hurts too much to try - please get in touch and we can chat through how yoga might be of benefit to you.
Being a bit of a nomad, I run classes and workshops across the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. Regular blocks of weekly classes are held in Craignish Village Hall, Ardfern and I work collaboratively with others to run retreats and workshops.
